EHSQ, Enthusiasm and Engagement: Impressions from the Intelex 2019 Middle East Customer Forum

The 2019 Middle East Customer Forum offered Intelex’s customers and partners in the region the opportunity to share their passion for EHSQ, impressing their hosts with their enthusiasm and innovative ideas.

One thing was very clear at Intelex’s 2019 Middle East Customer Forum held recently in Dubai: Intelex customers are focused on achieving and maintaining EHSQ excellence. Here are some takeaways from the forum and those in attendance…

“Health and safety is taken quite seriously by companies in the region from the top down; executive management in the Middle East considers the health and safety of its workers as a high priority,” said Roula Vrsic, Senior VP of Marketing at Intelex.

Vrsic also noted that a poll of attendees at the forum found that two-thirds of EHS professionals in attendance are directly involved in digital transformation strategies at their organizations. “That is significantly different than other regions in the … Read more...

Why Your People Are Your Most Important Metric

In the workplace, health and safety strategies specify the need for actions that management expects. Efforts to meet such expectations are employed and measured to ensure a successful journey. Though it is doubtful you are at war where you work, Sun Tzu’s approach involved first looking at the battlefield in detail (your organization), evaluating the enemy (poor performance), understanding any strengths or weaknesses (gaps in the management system) as well as the capabilities (resources) required to win. Once all of this is done, it’s merely a question of deciding what must be deployed and monitored for victory.

Drive Engagement in Quality and Safety Management with the Help of Technology

“If only I could get my organization to a state where our quality culture is embedded as a norm in every leader, contributor and partner. This would alleviate our constant trouble-shooting and reactive-stance dilemma. We’ve invested, stopped to ‘sharpen the saw’ multiple times, and while we have seen initial improvements, it’s very challenging to sustain.”

“We’ve made all the right ‘traditional’ moves by putting in place a mentoring program, defining accountability, consulting stakeholders, holding events, providing support and putting training programs in place. It seems though, that we experience diminishing returns and even I can’t remember the last time I took notice of the multitude of posters (some of which I sourced) dotted around the workplace.”

Sound familiar? If you’ve said it, thought it or heard it, maybe it’s time to think differently about quality culture and, more specifically, engagement in the context of quality and/or safety management. Engagement is … Read more...

Intelexians help Becel Ride for Heart raise $5 million for heart and stroke research

This past Sunday June 3, Intelexians joined over 13,000 cyclists celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Heart and Stroke’s Becel Ride for Heart and raising nearly $5 million for heart and stroke research, the highest ever for a ride.

Team Intelex continued its participation in the ride, raising $3,560. The rain and wind that was forecasted for the day held off and cyclists were treated to spectacular views of the Toronto skyline from Toronto’s Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway, views typically only available from an automobile.

Each of the 13,000 cyclists had their own motivations for being in the ride, whether it was a personal connection to the disease, participating in a good cause or a chance to flex their leg muscles.

For some like Gary Kao (pictured below), the ride represented a personal goal. “Although this is my second time around, it was a completely different experience,” … Read more...
