Intelex Named a Leader in the Gartner 2014 Magic Quadrant for Environmental, Health and Safety Management Systems

I don’t know if you’ve heard by now, but Intelex was positioned as the EHS vendor with the greatest ability to execute in the marketplace in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management Systems! This is Gartner’s first Magic Quadrant focused on EHS, which shows the progress and growth of the EHS industry.

The Magic Quadrant analyzes key EHS management system providers worldwide and positions them based on their “ability to execute” and “completeness of vision”. Vendors are placed into one of four quadrants as “leaders”, “challengers”, “visionaries” or “niche players”. Named both a Leader and EHS vendor with the highest ability to execute, we believe that our configurable solution and high customer satisfaction ratings earned us this position in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant.

According to Gartner, Leaders “deliver a full suite of EH&S functionality, and represent some of the largest, fastest-growing vendors in the market.” Intelex clients … Read more...

Live From the Intelex User Conference

Last week was a whirlwind of events – stemming from the 4th Annual Intelex User Conference, held at the King Edward Hotel in Toronto. Every September we cherish this event, as it is an opportunity to connect in person with our customers, both local and international. The conference was an opportunity for clients to share best practices through seminars, exchange ideas in group projects, and learn new ways to operate and maximize the Intelex system.

Intelex’s CEO Mark Jaine provided the keynote speech at the event, on “Innovation, Transformation and Collaboration”. He showcased Intelex’s latest products, the vision of the company and discussed how our relationships … Read more...

Near-miss reporting: How to get employees to report near misses

A man in a construction hat works on a laptop in a facility.

Estimates have shown that for every lost time injury that results in three or more days, there have been more than dozens of prior non-injury incidents. So, why don’t workers report more near misses so there are fewer serious injuries?

A recent article in the May issue of the American Society of Safety Engineers’ journal, Professional Safety, “Near-Miss Reporting — a Missing Link in Safety Culture”, explains and explores reasons why workers don’t report near-misses and how to overcome those obstacles.

The article written by Caterpillar Safety Services senior safety consultant Mike Williamsen, lists eight unique barriers to near-miss reporting:
