Verdantix ranks Intelex as a leader in EHS

Independent research and consulting firm Verdantix has released the 2019 installment of its Green Quadrant: EHS Software 2019 report, the only third-party benchmark of EHS software available. What makes this report notable is that it provides an unbiased, detailed evaluation of 23 market-leading global EHS software providers, measuring not only product capabilities, but also the varying strengths of each vendor, as well as providing expert guidance for EHS leaders.

The report is the culmination of a lengthy research process conducted by research directors and analysts at Verdantix. The benchmark assesses vendors and their applications on a broad range of criteria spanning mobile solutions, automated data input and hardware integrations, business intelligence and configurability, to name a few. In addition, the report assesses the full range of EHSQ processes, including safety, incident, audits and inspection management, quality management and management of change (MOC), sustainability management and more. It also dives into analysis of momentum criteria relating to vendor success, such as continuous innovation, new customer growth, installed customer base and partnerships. But … Read more...

HR’s Top Priority? Safety and Wellbeing!

By Faith Tull, Intelex Chief People Officer

Human Resources (HR) plays a unique role for health and safety within a company. We wear many hats in our organization, but ultimately at the core of everything we do is our employees. Not only is HR present to provide guidance when cultivating careers, but also is a critical component when the well-being and safety of each employee is considered!

There are many facets in any industry where safety is essential. When people think of safety, they immediately think about workplace accidents. It’s overwhelming that over 2.6 million accidents* occur each year, and as an HR professional, this is a tough number to swallow because we work hard to bring in these talent individuals into our organizations.

As an HR leader, I’ve always been committed to improving workplace health and safety standards and have worked closely with many subject matter experts whose roles … Read more...

In Business, It’s All About Your Ideas, Intelex CEO Tells Students

Businesses succeed or fail on the quality of their ideas, not on the fanciness of the way those ideas are conveyed to management and other decision-makers.

That was just one piece of advice Intelex CEO Mark Jaine conveyed to students enrolled in a Management Consulting practicum at Toronto’s prestigious Rotman School of Management earlier this month. The two-week program is designed to give students real-world experience in providing consulting advice to a company.

“We have a saying at Intelex: It’s great ideas that win. It’s not about the presentation. I don’t care how glossy your binder is. It’s the substance that matters,” Jaine said.

An entrepreneur himself, Jaine was more than happy to spend time with a group of students embarking on their own business careers. And having a successful Canadian CEO in front of them for a few hours was a big benefit to the students, instructor Scott Rutherford … Read more...

Intelex Employee Appreciation Day 2017

Employee Appreciation Day - Pic 1

Employee appreciation day is an opportunity for individuals to be recognized for their hard work and contribution to their company. It is an opportunity to celebrate the organization’s successes, and the effort that it has taken us to get here.

At Intelex, the praise just doesn’t come from Leadership Lexi Grams are a staple of Employee Appreciation day.  When the cards go out, the office seems to carry a fresh energy. This year, Lexi Grams seemed to be on everyone’s mind. These cards are an opportunity for Cross-Functional peer to peer recognition throughout the organization. Thanking a colleague for going the extra mile, being a great sounding board, demonstrating leadership and innovation. It is easy to say ‘good job’ or ‘thank you’ and be done with it, but there is something special to coming into a desk with hand written notes of appreciation.

There are many organizations utilizing recognition software …

Intelex Gives Back – May 2016 Update

The Intelex Gives Back Committee is focused on giving back to society in meaningful and impactful ways. The month of May saw the launch of a partnership with Canadian Blood Services as well as a five day campaign to raise funds for Fort McMurray.

Due to our world-class medical facilities, Toronto has a greater demand for blood than anywhere in Canada, but only 3% of the Canadian population donates on a regular basis. Intelex has formed a partnership with Canadian Blood Services (CBS) to ensure Intelexians are given time every quarter to head down the street and donate. With our first event being held last week, CBS received 50 pints which allowed them to exceed their daily quota of 44 pints per day. CBS has expressed their gratitude toward this initiative and we are looking forward to this partnership moving forward. Learn more about the people Intelexians are helping hereRead more...

Appreciating Employees, the Intelex way.

If you were to survey random companies in order to find out what they feel are their most important assets, it’s quite likely that you would receive some fairly mundane, cliché-laden responses, liberally sprinkled with corporate buzzwords that don’t really mean much of anything.

Employee_Appreciation_Day_2016_1280_2Here at Intelex, our answer to that question is simple. It’s our people. The truth is, without the daily efforts of our exceptionally talented and dedicated workforce, we would not be able to pursue our mission of helping our clients be more sustainable, protect the planet and its people.

Peer-to-Peer Recognition
There are actually several components to Employee Appreciation at Intelex, but the one that gets the most attention, and that everyone participates in with the most fervor has to be Lexigrams. Lexigrams are small, printed notes that employees can personalize and send to anyone in the company in order to thank them for something. Maybe … Read more...

Intelex and CAMH hit the hardwood for a great cause during NBA All-Star weekend!

On Friday, February 12th, the Intelex Gives Back club officially launched partnership with Toronto’s Center for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).  The CAMH Corporate Sports Challenge combined with athletes from Intelex provided CAMH clients with an opportunity to experience the fun and enjoyment of learning about and participating in organized sports – especially as teammates with corporate sports teams.

The clients had  an opportunity to learn new skills and further develop skills they already possess. The event focused on a sense of belonging to a community and increase feelings of “normalization”. These events go a long way in helping everyone decrease the stigma associated with mental illnesses and further develop partnerships between CAMH and the community. The Intelex Gives Back club will be partnering with CAMH moving forward and will be involved in a number of events throughout the year.

CAMH improves the lives of those affected
