It was all smiles this year for Hussmann as the company left Ignite Performance 2015 with the Quality Excellence Award for a second consecutive year! Congratulations to Peter Webb and the rest of the gang for an outstanding job – well done everyone!
The quality Excellence award is given to companies who have been pioneers and industry leaders in quality management through the use of the Intelex System. In order to qualify for the Quality Excellence award, an organization must demonstrate how their increased level of quality has allowed them to drive product and or service innovation.
Hussmann has developed and implemented a number of applications and reports used to monitor product Quality in manufacturing, Layered Process Auditing, and FRACAS tracking in their Reliability & Testing Lab.
The use of these tools has supported a year over year decreasing trend in Hussmann Cost of Poor quality (COPQ) and Initial Cost of Quality (ICQ). COPQ has gone from 1.7% in 2011 pre-Intelex to .70% in 2014 and expected to be below that at the end of 2015. ICQ has dropped from 13900 DPM in 2011 down to 9143 DPM in 2014 and expected to be around 6000 at the end of 2015.
