The countdown is on, and Intelex’s annual conference is less than a week away! Whether you’ve attended our Ignite Performance User Conference in the past or will be joining us for the first time, we want to make sure you leave Toronto at the end of next week with both the knowledge and the enthusiasm to take your Intelex system to the next level.
With this in mind, here are our top 5 tips for how to get the most out of the Ignite Performance 2014 Conference!
1. Set Goals
Intelex is big on setting goals – in fact, every year we hold an internal Vision Meeting to review our previous year’s goals as a company and lay out our objectives for the upcoming one. By setting specific, concrete goals for what you hope to achieve, you can come up with an action plan that will help you to ensure you have a successful conference.
For example, are you attending the conference to bring new knowledge back to your team? If so, try to approach every session and conversation as a potential learning opportunity. It can be hard to soak it all in and recall everything later, so make an effort to write down one or two key takeaway messages either during or immediately after these interactions.
Or maybe you’re attending the conference to establish new business connections or strengthen existing relationships? If that’s the case, now’s the time to stock up on your business cards, and consider reaching out through Intelex-Exchange ahead of time to the people that you’d like to connect with.
2. Come Prepared with Questions
There’s going to be a wealth of knowledge at the Hilton Hotel next week and we hope you’ll take advantage of it! From the clients who will be presenting on their experiences, to the Intelex employees that will be helping out with the event, we’re willing to bet that there’s an answer out there to almost any Intelex question you might have.
Spend a few minutes this week jotting down your thoughts about how your Intelex system is working for you currently. How are you hoping to improve in the year ahead, and who do you think might be able to help you do so? Take another look at the sessions that you’ve signed up for and think about what it is you’re hoping to gain from each of them, and what questions you might have for the presenters.
3. Identify Who You’d Like to Meet
Take a look at the Intelex-Exchange 2014 Intelex User Conference group to learn more about who else will be attending this year’s conference. Who else is using the same software solutions? Who else is employed in your industry and might be facing similar challenges?
If you’ve spent some time on the Intelex-Exchange community there’s a chance that you’ve interacted with some of these people in the past – ask yourself who you’d like to meet in person. Now is also a great time to review our list of speakers if you haven’t already! Who do you think you might want to try to grab some extra face time with?
4. Get Ready to Mingle
The term “networking” sometimes gets a bad rap, but we do things a little bit differently here at Intelex! Of course there will be your standard coffee breaks and lunches, but we also have some exciting and fun opportunities to get to know the Intelex team and your fellow attendees better in a less formal setting. Our evening event is always a highlight for conference attendees, and so we hope to see you out on Wednesday night as we enjoy a delicious dinner, great live music and a little bit of bowling! The next day our product roundtable sessions are back by popular demand, providing you with a chance to connect and share best practices with other Intelex users with the same product(s). You’ll have plenty of chances to make meaningful connections, so practice your conversation starters now!
5. Arrive Well-Rested!
Finally, we would strongly suggest that you try to get some shut-eye on the plane – we’re an energetic bunch and you’ll need that sleep to keep up with us! This year we’ve got a jam-packed agenda, a lot of engaging material to present and a big night planned for Wednesday, so you’ll absolutely want to start off on the right foot.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Toronto, and all of us here at Intelex are excited to learn from your experiences and share our own knowledge. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions leading up to the big event!
