Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. Selects Intelex

by JP Nadeau Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Intelex Technologies is proud to announce Ocean Spray Cranberries as one of our newest clients. Ocean Spray Cranberries is the leading producer of canned and bottled juice drinks in North America and are using the Intelex Training Management Module to streamline their training program.

Ocean Spray approached Intelex seeking a more comprehensive mode of managing and tracking their employee training records. Assigning training to groups of employees with similar requirements was a key feature the managers at Ocean Spray were looking for in order to improve and enhance business processes. With individual managers having their own specific training requirements, Ocean Spray was looking to adopt a solution that allowed each manager the flexibility to track and maintain their own training programs.

One of Intelex’s account managers, Simran Sharma, worked with Ocean Spray to review the current system being used and identify components they were looking to improve upon as well as provide some new features that they required. After exploring all possible options, Ocean Spray selected Intelex’s Training Management module as the solution to fulfill their needs. Intelex’s Training Management module is designed to enable organizations to effectively implement best-in-class employee training practices with organizations consistently recording an increase in overall organizational performance after implementation.

Intelex Chosen as TL 9000 Quality Management System For Telenor Pakistan

by Lori Dyne Thursday, June 11, 2009

We're pleased to announce that Intelex has been chosen by Telenor Pakistan to provide them with a web-based software solution designed to address all aspects of an effective telecommunications quality management program including document control, nonconformance and corrective-action tracking, and audits management, etc.

Telenor Pakistan is a subsidiary of Telenor ASA – a telecommunications service provider in 13 countries across Europe and Asia. Since its launch in 2005, Telenor Pakistan has become the single largest direct European investment in Pakistan to date, which as a result has contributed to its success as the fastest growing mobile network in the country, with coverage reaching deep into many of the most remote areas of Pakistan.

When Telenor Pakistan began shopping for a software provider, they identified several requirements for the solution that would best meet their needs, the top three being an easy-to-use document control system, a reliable audits management program, and the ability to streamline TL9000 initiatives organization-wide. We knew that our out-of-the-box quality management system didn’t address TL9000 requirements so we used our iForms® technology to build custom forms and reporting capabilities that would comply with TL9000.

"In what is an exciting, fast moving market, Telenor Pakistan always needs to be ready to meet growing market demands and offer reliable and robust services that our customers demand of us. Choosing a TL9000-based QMS is a step in that direction. TL9000 includes all the ISO 9000 requirements, and 90 additional requirements specific to the telecommunications industry. However, what really sets TL9000 apart from ISO 9000 are the set of measurements, which can be benchmarked globally under various product categories. We selected Intelex because it's QMS, iForms®, and reporting software could be easily configured to manage the TL9000 measurements, in addition to the standard requirements of ISO 9000. We look forward to a rewarding partnership between Telenor Pakistan and Intelex Technologies," said Khalid Shehzad Chief Technology Officer of Telenor Pakistan.

"Telenor Pakistan has only been around since 2005; however, in just four years they've become the dominant player in the telecommunications industry in Pakistan. They have experienced tremendous growth over the last few years by dedicating themselves to providing their customers with a superior product and customer service," commented Mark Jaine, President and CEO of Intelex Technologies Inc. "Implementing the Intelex Quality Management System with iForms® is just another way for Telenor Pakistan to solidify their commitment to providing high-quality services."

Make Your Job Easier with the OpenPass API

by Lori Dyne Thursday, April 02, 2009

Intelex Technologies has released its latest software innovation, the Intelex OpenPass API, a revolutionary application programming interface that will enable its users to sync and report data between multiple business management systems.

The Intelex OpenPass API functions as a conduit for seamlessly feeding data between multiple software programs. This means that Intelex’s environment, quality, and health & safety, and business management Software can now share data with pre-existing business software applications; thereby, saving time and resources while maintaining a degree of accuracy that’s difficult to achieve when data is transmitted manually.

The City of Calgary and St. Gobain are the first Intelex clients to take advantage of the OpenPass API.  The City of Calgary used our OpenPass API to import employee and location data from their pre-existing HR system into their Intelex System. They also used the OpenPass API to export employee injury data (i.e., incident number with date and time stamp) from Intelex’s Master Incidents Module into their HR program.

St. Gobain used the OpenPass API to import training courses, employee lists, and employee workgroup data from Lotus Notes into the Intelex System and Training Management Module. By using the OpenPass API St. Gobain was able to quickly populate their new Intelex System with historical data that will be a key factor in reporting accuracy and trending.

If you think that your organization could use the Intelex OpenPass API to import, export, and sync data between a pre-existing management program and your Intelex System, send an email to client.relations@intelex.com or call 416.599.6009 for more details.

Safety Is No Accident

by Lori Dyne Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Intelex would like to congratulate Metso Minerals on their newly implemented, global safety program! The following article was featured in Mining News Magazine and discusses Metso's proactive approach to safety.

Safety Is No Accident

Metso Raises the Bar with Global Standards

Mention safety to most mining industry people and their first picture is of protective headgear and reflective vests. But according to Chris Adkins, global health and safety specialist for Metso Mining's Life Cycle Services (LCS) team, the future of safety is more in software than in hardhats. "There'll come a time," he says, "when we'll be able to remotely monitor what every single job site is doing from a safety point of view."

To achieve this goal, the LCS team has launched a Safety Management System using Intelex, a web-based safety software application, which is both completely configurable and globally accessible. Best of all, according to Adkins, is the way the system can be specifically tailored to meet the needs of the user.

Configurable System

"With the Safety Management System now operational," he says, "Metso supervisors and managers can manage safety documents, report employee incidents and draw upon continuously updated best practice guidelines from Metso operations worldwide." Furthermore, safety guidelines and information can be configured according to the legal or linguistic requirements of different countries.

Adkins explains that the new Metso system "can also be specified for various levels of management and education, including safety training for particular machines or service contracts." Training courses will be able to cover every aspect of mining safety or can be individualized for subjects as varied as mills, confined spaces and road safety. The Intelex program can also help to assess relevant conditions at a job site and to monitor local governmental or environmental standards.

Standard Practices

There are currently over 440 safety-related documents in a variety of languages in the system and running "live" in eight countries. The remaining countries where Metso operates service contracts should be "live" on Intelex by the end of 2008, by which time the management reports section of the system will also be operational.

Adkins sees Metso's Safety Management System as vital in establishing a uniform code of safety behaviors. "Part of my role is to create standard practices that are equal in every region," he says. "With verifiable results I can help protect and maximize the potential of Metso's greatest resource, our employees".

Adkins concludes, "People are realizing that safety is not a fad. We're here to stay."

by Ike Nwaozomudoh Friday, October 17, 2008
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has recently made a four-part training manual available to use for free on its website. The Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklift) eTool is a resource designed to enhance the safety of employees who operate forklifts. It is not meant to be a replacement for OSHA mandated training. Highway Safety & Regulations Governing Truck Driver Licenses

by Ike Nwaozomudoh Thursday, July 31, 2008

According to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), over half a million holders of U.S commercial driver's licenses also qualify for full federal disability payments due to health issues. Some suffer from ailments ranging from vision and hearing impairments to seizure disorders. The situation underscores recent calls on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to bolster regulations governing the operation of commercial vehicles.

The FMCSA's primary mission is to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving large trucks and buses.  In carrying out this mandate, the FMCSA amongst other things, develops and enforces "data-driven&" regulations that balance motor carrier safety with industry efficiency.

Intelex offers a Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance module that was developed to enable operators of commercial vehicles to easily abide by FMCSA regulations.  The module stores driver information, tracks driver qualifications, generates real-time status reports, and sends automated escalating email reminders, and more.
