For the month of February, Intelex set out with a goal of raising $10,000 in support of the Canadian Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. To get the initiative rolling, Intelex graciously donated an initial $5000 and pledged to match any additional contributions from our team of Intelexians above and beyond that $5000. With everyone digging into their pockets, the generosity of the Intelex team was in full force as we managed to raise another $5,385 which was matched by Intelex bringing our total to $15,770. With the Canadian Government matching all donations, Intelex was able to contribute an impressive $31,540 towards this deserving cause.
Thank You to everyone who donated for your generosity!

Intelex celebrated Ted Grunau Day last week to commemorate its founder and former CEO. Each year, on Ted's birthday, Intelex employees are recognized by their peers for exhibiting qualities and strengths that Ted held in high regard. On February 18th, employees enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the office, beginning first with a catered lunch and ending with an awards ceremony. From start to finish, Ted Grunau Day was everything it was meant to be - "A day where we can both remember Ted and celebrate the accomplishments of Intelex employees," commented President and CEO Mark Jaine.
Mark, who also hosted the event, added seven awards to last year's 11, bringing the total number of awards to 18, including four Unsung Hero of the Year awards presented to stand-out employees who were nominated in numerous categories. Being highly involved in coordinating the awards, Mark made sure all employees voted, and made sure everything was fair and fun. The comments submitted by voters were read aloud prior to announcing each winner and that was a great reminder of the top-notch qualities, work ethic, and integrity of the Intelex team.
The highlight of the ceremony came at the end when, although Mark had thought he knew all of the winners for Ted Grunau Day, there was one more award to be given out. Just moments after what he thought was the final award was accepted, Mark was presented with his very own CEO of the Year award. He was completely surprised and felt truly honoured for the salute.
Congratulations to all award winners and nominees on being recognized by your peers!

Implementation is commonly referred to as a project, one with clearly defined start and end dates. In some cases, that may be a very accurate description of the implementation process; however, when it comes to EQH&S software, it's a rather limiting description for what Intelex considers implementation.
Bevin Lyon, one of Intelex's Executive Account Managers says, "Continual improvement is something that never ends. Whether you're in the planning stages, in the middle of roll-out, or celebrating five years with Intelex, you are always implementing your system."
Your internal business processes are constantly being improved so why should your software stay the same? Enhancements or configurations to your Intelex system are a must and will contribute to more efficient and streamlined business processes.
If you're interested in hearing implementation stories and sharing best practices with Intelex users, please join us for a unique, one-day conference in Philadelphia on February 10, 2010. This conference is open to clients and future clients. Space is limited. For more information, or to reserve your spot, please contact Kristy Sadler at 416.500.6009 x260.
If you're unable to attend this conference and would like more information about future conferences, please contact us. Intelex is planning more user conferences in select cities in 2010.

It was a Saturday night and the scene was exhilarating. Guests were dressed to impress, food & drink were in abundance, and the venue offered a spectacular 360-degree view of Toronto. On December 12th, 2009 Intelex hosted its annual Christmas party at Panorama Lounge & Restaurant, set atop the 51st floor of the Manulife Centre at Bay & Bloor. Intelexians were invited to bring along spouses, significant others, and BFFs to join the festivities, making it a truly special evening. We ate, we drank, we danced, and we even made some new friends.
In just a few years, the Intelex Christmas party has more than doubled in size and moved from a condo party room to one of the most extravagant restaurants in downtown Toronto. Curious to know how these changes have influenced the general mood of the Christmas party, I asked Nicky, Quality Assurance Manager, to tell me about previous years’ parties. After hearing a few stories I can definitely say that the ambiance of the Christmas party has changed drastically over the years; however, the one thing that has remained consistent is the Intelex culture. It’s something our team celebrates both in and out of the office. Whether we’re working hard, having a few drinks after work, or getting dressed up on a Saturday night for our Christmas party, the Intelex family is just that. Family.
A big thanks goes out to all those who helped us celebrate this holiday season and a special thanks to Mark Jaine, Intelex President & CEO, for treating us to an incredibly memorable night! To my fellow Intelexians, Intelex clients, and clients to be - Happy Holidays & all the best in 2010!

Intelex held its annual Vision Meeting with much success last week in the ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel located in Toronto's Rogers Center, home of the Toronto Blue Jays. Each year, the Vision Meeting is held as an opportunity for the entire Intelex team to spend a day together and get to know each other and the company better. At the same time, the meeting is designed to generate employee feedback and input on how to improve all aspects of the organization. Hosted by Intelex President and CEO Mark Jaine, the event consisted of three separate presentations looking at performance in the 2009 fiscal year, focus and priorities for 2010, and a sneak peek at the highly anticipated Intelex.net system. A variety of group activities were conducted in between presentations with the annual Intelex jingle/skit competition returning by popular demand and exposing some unknown internal talent.
A complete success, the 2010 Vision Meeting yielded some informative presentations, valuable input and suggestions, and helped to solidify the visionary nature and unique culture here at Intelex. Having achieved at least 40% revenue growth each year over the past 8 years, and with a current team of 95 talented employees and counting, Intelex has grown to establish itself as a pioneer and leader in the EHSQ software industry.
Thanks to everyone for participating, we are looking forward to next year already.

Intelex has ranked as one of the fastest growing technology companies in North America in Deloitte's annual Technology Fast 500 program. The program, which was launched in 1997, ranks the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. The rankings are based on percentage of fiscal-year revenue growth over the past 5 years, in this case from 2004 to 2008. Intelex grew 317% over this period.
Mark Jaine, Intelex's President and CEO, attributes the company's growth to a focus on innovation and a growing global demand for sustainability solutions. "It is a high level accomplishment as an organization to be recognized in the prestigious Technology Fast 500™ program," commented Jaine. "To be identified as a leading force within the North American technology industry is an amazing achievement and something we are very thrilled about and proud of here at Intelex. This recognition really reinforces our commitment to innovation and steady growth as a company. With most corporations and regulatory bodies now embracing sustainability, our growth reflects our efforts to be on the cutting edge of this trend."
The ranking is compiled from nominations submitted directly to the Technology Fast 500™ website, and public company database research conducted by Deloitte. Qualifying companies for the program must own proprietary intellectual property or proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues. Additionally, companies must have been in business for a minimum of five years, and be headquartered within North America.
Congrats to the whole Intelex team on this success!

Intelexians were asked to reach deep into their pockets this fall and meet our company goal of $1,000.00, along with any non-perishable food items they could bring into the office. President and CEO Mark Jaine pledged that the company would match any food or monetary donations made during the drive which ran at our headquarters from September 22nd, to October 9th, 2009.
Daily Bread Food Bank is a non-profit, charitable organization that is fighting to end hunger in communities across the Greater Toronto Area. Every year thousands of people across the GTA rely on food banks and Daily Bread serves the majority of these people through neighbourhood food banks and meal programs in its member agencies.
The Intelex staff donated a total of $1,320.00, exceeding our goal by the end of the day on the 9th. With the company matching that amount we rang in at a total of $2,640.00! We also hauled in a total of around 65 Lbs of food. One Intelex staff member even rode his bike to work through the rain with an 8kg (17 Lb) bag of rice – twice!
The Daily Bread Food Bank Fall Drive 2009 Challenge is still on until October 16th 2009. Their goal for this fall is $10,000.00, and with our help they are well on their way. Thanks and great work to everyone who donated to Daily Bread Food Bank!

Intelex Technologies, Inc. is proud to announce that we have joined the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ ranking. The program, which was launched eleven years ago to celebrate the world-class achievements of the Canadian Technology sector, ranks Canada’s fifty fastest growing technology companies based on the highest percentage of revenue growth over the past 5 years, in this case from 2004 to 2008.
Commenting on the achievement, Intelex’s President and CEO, Mark Jaine had the following to say, “We are very thrilled to have ranked in this year’s Fast 50 program and be recognized at such a prominent level. It is really a testament to the vision of the company and dedication of our employees who strive to make us an innovative leader in our industry.” Jaine also attributes Intelex’s success to a focus on collaboration with our customers. “For us to continue to rapidly grow, especially during turbulent economic times, is a great achievement and a real indication of the value of our product. We strongly believe in collaboration with our clients, involving them in both product development and direction, and thus improving their return on investment while expanding our business. This has ultimately proven to be a highly successful formula.”
Qualifying companies for the program must have been in business for at least five years, have revenues of at least $5 million, be headquartered in Canada, own proprietary technology, and conduct research and development activities in Canada. Those who qualify are then evaluated and judged by a panel of experts based on four key criteria: competitive advantage; size, growth, and market attractiveness; management effectiveness and organization; and financial performance. Congrats to the whole Intelex team on this great accomplishment!

As August came to an end so did another successful edition of Intelex’s annual tradition of Beach Month. As an effort to embrace the warm summer temperatures and latest fashion styles, during the month of August, the staff here at Intelex is encouraged to sport their casual summer attire to the office for the duration of the month. To celebrate the conclusion of Beach Month, Intelex hosted a delicious catered BBQ lunch for all their staff to enjoy. Featuring such menu items as BBQ beef ribs, jerk chicken, grilled veggies, corn on the cob and plenty of sweet desserts, it was a great finish to what was a very enjoyable month.
Special thanks go out to our Executive Assistant Jessica for all her work putting this great event together. Thanks to all who came out as we’re looking forward to next year already.
