Ongoing Implementation and Improvement

by Carmela Maia Monday, January 18, 2010

Implementation is commonly referred to as a project, one with clearly defined start and end dates. In some cases, that may be a very accurate description of the implementation process; however, when it comes to EQH&S software, it's a rather limiting description for what Intelex considers implementation.

Bevin Lyon, one of Intelex's Executive Account Managers says, "Continual improvement is something that never ends. Whether you're in the planning stages, in the middle of roll-out, or celebrating five years with Intelex, you are always implementing your system."

Your internal business processes are constantly being improved so why should your software stay the same? Enhancements or configurations to your Intelex system are a must and will contribute to more efficient and streamlined business processes.

If you're interested in hearing implementation stories and sharing best practices with Intelex users, please join us for a unique, one-day conference in Philadelphia on February 10, 2010. This conference is open to clients and future clients. Space is limited. For more information, or to reserve your spot, please contact Kristy Sadler at 416.500.6009 x260.

If you're unable to attend this conference and would like more information about future conferences, please contact us. Intelex is planning more user conferences in select cities in 2010.

Intelex Visits the Middle East for HSE Conferences

by JP Nadeau Wednesday, November 04, 2009

Intelex recently attended two conferences that took place in the Middle East, both with a focus on addressing growing HSE challenges in the workplace. John Phyper, Intelex's EVP of Sales, Marketing and Alliances travelled to Doha Qatar first to participate in the 5th Annual HSE Forum in Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals. Taking place over 4 days, the Forum followed in the footsteps of the outstandingly successful 4th Annual HSE Meeting in 2008 and had over 150 regional and international senior level HSE professionals gathered to share their opinions and insights with their industry peers. This series of HSE Forums has proven itself to be the focal point for discussion on the best practices, innovative solutions and creative ideas on successful HSE compliance in the oil and gas industry. John also attended "Managing HSE in the Construction Industry," hosted by the Oman Society of Contractors which took place in Oman and specifically looked at recently introduced health and safety legislation as well as health and safety standards in the construction industry. Intelex's Middle Eastern partners, the Barik Group, were also in attendance at both events.

The conferences both addressed the shifting culture of safety in the workplace and the importance of implementing and maintaining a HSE Management System to have a pro-active and re-active solution to workplace safety. "There is a significant shift by companies to put in place robust systems to ensure their workers and contractors mitigate environmental damage and practice safety in the workplace," commented Phyper on the emerging industry trends.

Intelex's web-based HSE Management solutions provide a single, organization-wide platform for all safety data, policies, objectives and initiatives. Find out how an Intelex Safety Management Solution or Environmental Management Solution can help your organization save time, money and resources.

iForm Knowledge Exchange Conference

by Henry Martinez Tuesday, October 06, 2009

I had the opportunity to attend the first "iForm Knowledge Exchange" conference in Toronto, ON Canada. The conference was strongly themed around iForms and its flexibility in usage as demonstrated by the various presentations. Now that I mentioned presentations let me point out that here lays the uniqueness of this conference, "all presentations were given by clients of Intelex". Here are my thoughts:

  • I am very excited to have been introduced to certified iforms and the collaborative iforms these two concepts leverage the knowledge and expertise of the industry professionals;
  • After viewing the presentations of the various iforms by the Intelex clients I walked away with several new ideas which I can use to capture similar processes within my organization.

Overall I walked away from the conference excited for the direction Intelex is taking their product and the embracing of the collaborative approach throughout the various business functions at Intelex.

First iForm Knowledge Exchange Conference a Success

by JP Nadeau Thursday, September 24, 2009

Intelex held its first iForm Knowledge Exchange

Intelex held its first iForm Knowledge Exchange this week with approximately 20 of our clients coming to Toronto to participate. The Knowledge Exchange was the first of many that are proposed with our valued customers and covered three main topics:

  • Intelex update on the direction of iForms – introducing new certified iForms (iForms that can be configured but whose regulatory or best management practices content is updated by Intelex) and collaborative iForms (iForms that are shared between customers)
  • Presentation of 16 iForms by 10 clients covering the gamut of Environmental Metrics, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Risk Information, Product Holds, Product Shelf Life, Compliance Tasks, Supplier Management, Manufacturing Audits, Online Tests (with automatic training update), Contractor Induction, VOC & Ammonia Management, Regulatory Agency Contact, Continuing Improvement, Change Management and Stage Gate.
  • Ask The Expert Q&A Session that allowed the exchange of ideas on how to improve both clients use of the solution and Intelex offering.

With Intelex representation present from upper management, business development, client services and members of the iForm configuration team, the general consensus from both clients and Intelex personnel is that Intelex's "collaborative" approach to assisting customers address their business requirements is the wave of the future. "The event was a great success with nothing but positive feedback from all the participants," commented Intelex President and CEO Mark Jaine, "In addition to clients sharing knowledge and providing input for future development, it was really exciting – clients and Intelex alike – to see the various types of iForms being built by Intelex users throughout various industries."

Another Successful EUEC

by Lori Dyne Wednesday, February 11, 2009

(Above: EUEC Energy & Environment Conference 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona)

(Above: Intelex's Steve Ross & Dan Marcus with Intelex Users and colleagues)

The EUEC Energy & Environment Conference was a great source for industry news and best practices, but this year's conference was particularly relevant in light of President Obama's proposed renewable energy initiatives, which include "Implementing an economy-wide cap-and-trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050," and "Helping create five million new jobs by strategically investing $150 billion over the next ten years to catalyze private efforts to build a clean energy future." (White House Agenda - Energy & Environment).

Information on managing Greenhouse Gas Emissions and other environmental initiatives.

Back from NAEM's 16th Annual EHS Management Forum

by Lori Dyne Wednesday, October 29, 2008

The 16th Annual EHS Management Forum in Memphis, Tennessee was a great success. The forum gave the Intelex Sales Team an opportunity to catch up with existing clients like NRG, AEP, Danaher, and Tyco Valves and Controls; and a chance to meet with new colleagues and business partners.

Although Intelex representatives have attended NAEM’s EHS Management Forum in years past, this was the first year that we were a platinum sponsor. As a sponsor we had the opportunity to engage in the forum on a new level, which included participating in the Safety portion of the forum program.  Also participating in the Safety Session was Intelex’s client Tyco Valves and Controls. Keith Welch, Tyco’s EHS Manager, presented on “Safety – Best Practices & Emerging Issues.” Keith provided some key insights into the challenges that Tyco Valves and Controls had to consider when they made the decision to switch from a paper-based EHS reporting process to the Intelex web-based EHS Management System. Being that Tyco Valves and Controls has over 12,000 employees in 24 different countries, you can imagine this was no small project.  To learn more about Keith’s presentation, you can submit a request through the Intelex website.

Last week’s environment, health, and safety forum was such a success that we’re already looking for to the next NAEM event “Driving Performance and Cost Savings Through EHS Management Information Systems” on February 19-20, 2009 in Tampa, Florida.  See you there!
